How do I join Dionysis?
Check out the web site and decide if you're interested, then simply drop us a line via the Contact page. Be sure to include your name and email address. We'll get back to you with details of what you need to do next.
Does it cost anything to join?
Dionysis charges a £100 participation fee to be part of the cast for the summer blockbuster. For this you receive 2 weeks under the guidance of a professional production team, working on your dancing, singing and acting skills. You get the chance to perform in a professional venue with all of the technical attributes of a professional show. Naturally this costs the company a huge amount of money and the only way that this is made possible is through the participation fees and ticket sales. Also to audition you would need to pay £7 to cover administration and venue costs.
Where do rehearsals take place?
The venue for rehearsals is Durham Gilesgate Sports College, Bradford Crescent, Gilesgate,Durham, DH1 1HN. Map
I'd like to go and see a show. How do I get tickets?
Tickets will be available from the Gala Theatre box office in the run-up to the show.
How many shows do Dionysis put on per year?
Dionysis traditionally stage one large-scale, youth musical a year. Dionysis performed a version of John Godber's "Bouncers" in January 2002. We are hoping to increase the diversity of the company by producing more shows at other times during the year in the future. Check the In production page for details of upcoming shows.
